Will You Lose Your Money in SWA?

(The below is taken from JB LAZARTE's blog )

People who encounter an “innovative” homebased online income source like SWA are often not open to the kind of risk that they perceive. All businesses or investments entail risk. Sadly, statistics say that 7 of 10 Filipino households are “risk averse”—that’s a fancy way of saying we treat financial risk as “bad juju” by default. We hate risk. We are afraid of it. It gives us the screaming mimies. That’s why so few Filipinos (maybe those are the 3 of 10) are known to have the balls to take on risk no matter how big it seems to be. That is why, too, that most Pinoys are happy and content to live the complacent, cubicle-based lives of the average employee.
When we see something like SWA, the automatic gut reaction of most Pinoys (especially those who are not really very familiar with online income sources) is to see it as a frightening risk—they fail to see the obvious “other side” of the golden coin, the side that outlines in striking detail all the opportunities involved with this system.
And when I say “opportunity,” I mean opportunity like this one. An opportunity that is duplicable and can be done by anyone with enough passion and, well, enough knowledge to use Facebook.
The first thing to do when you encounter something new but is obviously very exciting in terms of money-making capability is to see the involved risk AS IT REALLY IS: minimal. With SWA, the risk we speak of is the $55 or the Php2,500 you are paying as registration fee. You are not paying anything else, ever. You are only paying for the ever-growing Supreme Wealth Library (when I joined SWA, the resources were only 300+, now it is 2000+!!!!). You are NOT risking your life’s savings. Your life would not be reduced to a smoldering pile of ashes if, in the worst case scenario, you lose that Php2,500.
What I’m saying is investing Php2,500 is, yes, still a risk—but it is a “manageable risk.” It is the kind of risk that is attached with an awesome opportunity that essentially makes you lose more if you ignore it. If you turn your back on SWA just because you’re very afraid to lose a couple of thousand bucks at the expense of losing the opportunity to change your life for the better, then nobody loses but you.
Compare that with other types of risk with other forms of investment. When you’re involved in the trade of stocks, or mutual funds, the minimum investment is NOT Php2,500, but significantly larger than that, with also a significant amount of risk involved. If you’re planning to enter the food cart business, either as a franchisee or the sole proprietor of your new brand, the amount of money (and effort involved) ranges from P30k to P50k—and that’s only the bottom average.
Now, risking Php50,000 is still “manageable” if you’re an OFW earning an average of Php200,000 a month. However, if you’re locally employed and earning Php20,000 a month and the money you’re investing in your food cart business represents your savings for the past year, then you’re taking on an “all or nothing” kind of risk.
See the difference? The magnitude of risk is relative and depends so much on how well you can bounce back should the investment fail. If you’re an OFW, losing 50k on a failed investment can probably “annoy” you, but you can earn the whole amount next month. But if you’re a well-meaning local employee who lost his or her 12-month savings, the financial fallout would bite harder.
Now consider all these investment issues when you look at SWA: to enter the business, all you need is $55 or Php2,500. Heck, it’s almost just the price of a WordPress plugin I used to market (as an affiliate), and for all I know, the plugin may not even work as advertised because I have NOT encountered a single soul who actually swears by its efficiency.
But with SWA, you see your friends, former officemates, even total strangers taking advantage of its “autopilot” nature, and that’s just undeniable evidence of how it can work in the long term.
